Rainbow Mountain and Humantay Lake Treks Visit South America exceeded my expectations in every way possible.... read more From many phone conversations and emails with Hilton (the founder) to plan our treks to actually adventuring in Peru with enthusiastic and informative tour guides, the founder and his team are delightful. Although Humantay Lake was more of a strenuous hike than we had originally imagined, the breathtaking view made it worth every moment! You have the option to take a horse also if you are physically not feeling up for the challenge. Rainbow Mountain, another magical moment. What a great way to wrap up our trip. Tres Rainbows Tour!! HIGHLY recommend the tres rainbows tour! Originally we had signed... read more up for the one-day rainbow mountain tour but at the last minute changed to the tres rainbows tour, and we are SO happy we did!! This tour takes you to the lesser-known Palcoyo mountain- Its a place where you get to stop and take in the beauty of your surroundings without dozens of other visitors obstructing your view. We were constantly in awe of how diverse and beautiful the landscape was, and found that photos can’t fully capture its beauty. LOVED this tour, and our guide Noah! read less

And thank you for stating that your time with us at Visit South America was great. However all of our other tours in Cusco are operator by our own team. We have had multiple groups do the 4Day tour and have heard nothing but good things from their time on the trek. It's very disappointing hearing this about Andre and how he reacted to your sickness. I wish our team would have known the situation right after the tour so that we could have taken immediate action and requested to have a sit down with Andre. Although it has been almost 6months after the tour we will do out best to reach out to our partner Salkantay Trekking to ask him about the specific trip. We will over how we could have handled the situation differently and ensure it does not happen again. In any case, we apologies on their behalf and appreciate you letting us know in your feedback. Jeff assured us that the guide will have an oxygen tank and is trained in monitoring signs and symptoms. Our hotel pick-up was at 2:00AM, yes I know it is early but trust me it is worth it! This is where they ask you if you will need a horse or not. For the horse, you can get a horse round trip which is 80 soles or 60 soles one way. You must tell the locals if you want a round trip right away. My friend chose to do roundtrip because she wasn’t adjusting very well. I did one way that way I could keep up with the horse on the way up which would be the harder part and hike and take my time and take photos on the way down. That would also get us to the view point faster so we can catch the sunrise. Our guide Noah, was incredible! He kept checking up on us making sure we were feeling good even though he was on foot (almost jogging) while we were on horse. He also took photos and videos for us while we were on the horses as you need both hands on the saddle at all times since the horses ride right along the edge. You come to a point where the horses are no longer allowed up and you MUST go on foot. It is a STEEP climb. Take your time. I was able to go a faster pace than my friend so Noah had said for me to go ahead and he will stay with my friend. As I look back I see him constantly comforting her and reassuring that she is okay and that she can do it. That made me feel comfortable to go ahead and explore on my own and the best part! I was one of the first few people at the top! Once at the top the views make it so worth the hike! It is so incredibly beautiful! There are no words to describe it. Some people Say “oh it’s not as bright as the photos or it’s dull” you have to remember that it is a naturally occurring beauty. There are no dyes or additives to make tourists like ourselves happy. The preserve it as natural as they can.I want to thank Noah for make our experience so special and so memorable! I will be talking about this forever! The tour guides were very excitable and clearly had an interest in making sure your trip would be one to remember. Our guide to Machu Picchu had been there >20 times, but he was just as excited to be there during our first. Our guide to rainbow mountain (Noah) turned out to be a professional photographer! HUACACHINA 6-STAR EXPERIENCE WITH VSA Did a day tour to Huacachina with Visit South America... read more (VSA) at the end of April. Overall a 6-STAR experience with VSA! Best Trip of my life - 2 weeks in Peru and Bolivia! I have always planned to propose to my girlfriend in... read more Salar de Uyuni and after making a few comparisons I finally decided to organize this special 2 week south america trip with VSA! Best decision ever. From a few months before the trip, we started with the customization of the trip with Sofia and Hilton. Sofia was extremely reliable and responsible, prompt in her responses and offered great creative suggestions to add to our itinerary. We managed to put together a fully customized trip at a very reasonable price. Hilton even got us multiple upgrades on hotels, bus services etc with no additional costs. The moment we landed in Peru, we were greeted and hosted by English speaking guides. We never once felt lost in this foreign country despite not knowing a single word of Spanish. Our guides in Peru: Noah, Becker and Indira, were knowledgeable, funny, detail oriented and offered exceptional service in our private tours in Lima, Machu Pichu, Humantay Lake, Tres Rainbow Mountains and Lake Titicaca. Noah was particularly helpful in Cusco, when I suffered from a serious case of high altitude sickness, he was available at 4am in the morning to contact medical staff and arranged for a doctor to come check up on me. He was always there for us and made our trip so much more effortless. In Uyuni, we had a truly unique experience hosted by Jeff. Despite our visit in the dry season, Jeff was able to locate a pool of water for us to capture the most beautiful mirror reflections. On top of being a wonderful, cheerful and creative tour operator, Jeff has also gone above my expectations to help me create the perfect proposal scenario - in the middle of the salt flats with wine and flowers which he personally brought all the way from La Paz! It shows how much thought and effort he puts in to create a memorable experience for us and the perfect engagement scenario. Needless to say, this was the defining moment for both of our lives and an unforgettable one. This is definitely the best trip of my life so far and we wouldn't hesitate to book with VSA for our next South America trip! read less

The man took the time to help orient me to my tour and started me off on what I needed to know to prepare for the 4 days. It was refreshing to know that while he's busy working in another country, he took the time to speak to me over WhatsApp to welcome me! Thank you! 2) Noah: Noah was our guide for Sacred Valley (Maras, Moray, and Ollantaytambo). He was accommodating, patient, fun, very knowledgeable, and great at taking pictures. He definitely made our time in Sacred Valley so precious. It was like we were just hanging out with our friend that showed us the best picture taking spots while educating us on the history of Sacred Valley. Our driver, Gerardo, was also very pleasant. Even though we had a language barrier, the man was very sweet and made sure he opened the door for us! 3) Javier: Javier was awesome! Even though he's been doing the Machu Picchu tour for so many years, his passion and knowledge in sharing about the Incas still felt powerful! He has so much charisma and the transitions from sharing about the Incas to taking photos was amazing. He would wait for the best time to take our photos (which by the way was phenomenal)... He's very theatrical and it made learning about the Incas so much more meaningful. 4) Joel: Joel was our guide for two days: The trek to Humantay Lake and Rainbow Mountain! This guy was the hardest working guide I've ever met. On both days, he came to pick us up from the hotel around 2:30am-3:30am and he trekked about 3-4 hours while my friend and I opted for horses because the altitude and weather was killing us. Even after a hard trek and lack of sleep, Joel would still be in great spirits in making sure we were taken care of. He would always check in on our altitude sickness, get us to our destinations on time, and he made sure our photos were picture-perfect! Our drivers for both days, Hugo and Roy, were also very sweet, pleasant, and great gentlemen in opening our doors! My overall experience was awesome. The tour package made sure we got to our destinations at PRIME TIMES when not much people are around so we can actually experience our destinations to its full capacity. Even though we needed to get up early for some of these tours, it was all so worth it! Their two days of provided breakfast and lunch was awesome and quite the experience because the restaurants we went to was so authentic to Peru and the Inca experience. I recommend VSA to ANYONE who wants to do the 4 day tour. There was never a worry about how we were going to get to our destinations because of their provided transportation for us. All my friends are asking me about VSA because they saw how much fun and great pictures we had because of our awesome guides! Words cannot express the experience we had and we definitely owe it to VSA's awesome staff. If I were to visit another country in South America, I will definitely book with VSA. More read less

Millpu Lagoon Tour We decided to book through visit South America because some... read more friends recommended it to myself and my girlfriend. We really wanted to do Millpu Lagoon near Ayacucho and the tour said it would include, transportation, a guide, and food (lunch +snacks) in the included price. The guide and driver picked us up super early from Cusco and drove 3 hours to get to the lagoon. They were super awesome and professional, but was surprised to pay for our lunch and snacks but anyways, we made our way to the lagoon and got there before any other tours (which was a huge plus). We would recommend this tour to our friends or family! But I would suggest making sure that the food is included in the tour! I would personally book through visit South America again. read less

Amazing Peru Experience! My boyfriend and I decided to go to Peru for... read more our 1 year anniversary. We decided to book some day trips/overnight trips/excursions. He found VSA and I am so glad he did. We did a number of trips with them (Tres Rainbows, Sacred Valley-Maras and Moray, Machu Picchu, Ollantaytambo, Huacachina, Paracas, Chincha). The whole thing was awesome. Made our trip so enjoyable and stress free.We had most things planned out before the trip. We basically got to design our own itinerary but Hilton had so many great tips and was so helpful. The tour guides/drivers were so friendly and knowledgeable. They gave us so much information but also gave us insight into the local culture. Peru's culture and history is fascinating and I think we would have missed out on a lot if we hadn't been able to spend time with them.Even when we were in Peru Hilton was available whenever we had questions so we always felt supported. Overall I absolutely recommend VSA. It is a unique experience that is easy to plan/personalize and incorporates local culture. Hope they keep expanding so I can book them next time I go to South America. More read less

Rainbow Mountain 1D Experience The team at Visit South America are amazing from start... read more to finish. From up front, responsive communications with Sofia, to pick up and drop off, to Noah and the guides the day-of, and even helping to get amazing footage along the way, VSA is the best (and only) way to go. We loved talking to him about everything Cusco and Peru, and loved getting information about the different minerals which creates the beautiful scenery, and also the surrounding mountain ranges. Our guide was excellent as well as the local guide. We honestly ate better in that tent than I do normally. I’m looking to do more South America travel and will absolutely be booking with VSA!
