    Head out from Ollantaytambo by van to km 82 for the start of your trek. Hike through stunning scenery, witnessing a variety of flora that changes with the seasons. You’ll also see several smaller ruin sites like Llactapata along the way. There’s no need to worry about the details, a crew of local porters, cooks, and guides will take care of everything for you. Porters will carry most of the gear so you’ll only need to bring along a small daypack with essentials like water, snacks, rain gear, a camera, etc.

    Begin your day early and ascend the long, steep path to Warmiwañusca, also known as Dead Woman’s Pass, the highest point of the trek at 4,198m (13,769 ft). Most hikers reach camp by early afternoon. Take some time to rest up before tomorrow’s adventures!

Trek through stunning terrain, reach the highest point at 4,198m (13,769ft), and take in breathtaking views. Rest and relax at the camp, savoring your achievement.     Day 12Day 12: Inca Trail

    Today, you will cross two more passes and ruins. The first pass is Runquraqay at 3,950m (13,113 ft). On a clear day, you will be able to see the snow-capped Cordillera Vilcabamba. You’ll hike through cloud forest on the gentle climb to the second pass of the day, climbing through original Incan constructions with a highest point of 3,700m (12,136 ft). If it’s clear out, take in the spectacular views of the Urubamba Valley. Reach Phuyupatamarca at 3,650m (11,972 ft), meaning “town above the clouds,” and camp here or embark on another 1.5 hrs journey to Wiñay Wayna (“forever young”) located at 2,650m (8694 ft).

Ascend Runquraway at 3,950m (13,113 ft) and then reach the second pass at 3,700m (12,136 ft).
