    Itinerary

Day 1 La Paz/Sajama National Park

Get ready for an exciting adventure! We meet at your accommodation in La Paz, and make our way across the city of El Alto headed for the Altiplano (high plateau) and Sajama National Park. Gaze out over quaint villages, grazing animals, agricultural fields and vast plains as you travel through this stunning Bolivian highland.

Arrive in Sajama National Park in the early afternoon and spend some time taking in the lush surroundings of Bolivia’s highest peak; natural hot springs, a queñua forest with incredible views of mountains. Keep your eyes peeled for sightings of flamingos, geese, vicuñas or any other Andean wildlife that may come your way. Once the day draws to an end relax with a pleasant evening dinner according to the package you selected.

    Meals Included: Lunches

Day 2 Lagoons and Deserts Sajama NP

Today is all about exploring Bolivia’s hidden landscapes! We start off bright and early with a visit to an amazing geyser field, plus the option of a moderate hike for those who are feeling active. Then in the afternoon, we’re off to see some stunning Andean lagoons, teeming with pink flamingos and other wildlife.

Plus there are colorful archaeological sites to explore and learn about the region’s natural and cultural history. What makes today so special is that very few people venture here so we have this incredible natural wonder almost all to ourselves (just watch out for any other rare travelers visiting occasionally). Finally, we finish with a stay in a basic hotel nearby making it an ideal spot to rest after our long journey to Uyuni.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunches and Dinners.

    Day 3 Colchani/ Uyuni

Day three of our incredible expedition takes us south through the Altiplano, driving along highways to Salar de Uyuni. You can look forward to see traditional villages of the Bolivian Altiplano.  As night falls, end your journey with an arrival at your accommodation either in Colchani (Plus package) or Uyuni town (Standard package).

In Dry Season you will go to Salar de Coipasa

Today, take a grand journey south along the Altiplano roads with herds of llamas. Our destination is the Coipasa Salt Flats (a lesser known but still remarkable place) and Salar de Uyuni (Uyuni Salt Flats). Along the way, you’ll be amazed by everything you encounter – huge cacti, the isolated 3.000-km2 sea of salt that is Salar de Coipasa (Bolivia’s second largest), and a secret ancient burial town in the mountains where mummies are well preserved (one of the last remaining places like it on the continent). As darkness descends, arrive at the northern rim of beautiful Salar de Uyuni (weather permitting) to enjoy an incredible sunset before making your way to your accommodation for the night.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunches and Dinners.

    Day 4 Uyuni Salt Flats

Today’s major highlight is the remarkable Salar de Uyuni! We start the day by heading to the small village of Colchani which serves as the gateway to the salt flats, giving you a chance to take a stroll through its colorful market.

We’ll provide rubber boots, so when weather allows, you can experience an unforgettable mirage with the sky reflecting off the surface. After spending some time snapping pictures and having a once-in-a-lifetime lunch – if you’re up for it – you can even stay for sunset in the evening!

Optinally, those looking for an early start can also experience sunrise this morning (at an additional cost). So gather your energy and be prepared for low temperatures as we head into this otherworldly adventure with unmissable views! Finally, at nightfall enjoy a well-deserved rest back in either Uyuni town (Standard package) or Colchani (Plus package).

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunches and Dinners.

    Day 5 Lagoons/ Deserts/ Eduardo Avaroa Reserve

Trek south of the Salar de Uyuni and enter the captivating Eduardo Avaroa Reserve. Enjoy dramatic views all day long, with multiple stops to admire the unique wildlife and stunning landscapes at the Andean Lagoons. Follow this up by exploring Siloli Desert, which is situated within the boundaries of Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve. Here you can marvel at Arbol de Piedra (Stone Tree) and other whimsical rock formations. Finally, witness a spectacle of colors as hundreds of pink flamingos gather at Laguna Colorada.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunches and Dinners.

    Day 6 Hot Springs/ Laguna Verde/ Uyuni

End your incredible tour with steaming geyser field situated at the highest point of Eduardo Avaroa Reserve (4,900m). Soothe your senses with a dip in hot springs or admire Volcan Licancabur overlooking Laguna Verde. Once you’re done, proceed to Uyuni where your tour ends and you can return to La Paz by bus or plane or continue exploring Chile on your own. Of course, you also have the option of continuing over the border directly to San Pedro de Atacama, Chile (1.5 hrs), for an unforgettable experience!
