    Day 1 Cusco/Sacred Valley/Chinchero/ Moray/Maras/Ollantaytambo/ Machu Picchu

    At 7:30 am your VSA cultural guide and our driver will pick up you from your hotel.

    We drive for about 45 minutes and stop by the small town of Chinchero to learn about the ancient techniques of arts and textiles by the local people of the area. A truly unique experience!

    We then continue to visit Moray, the agricultural testing site of the Incas while passing through beautiful green lush valleys and beginning to see snow-capped peaks of the Andes. The Incas carved out the dome-like shape into the ground to test out optimal growing temperatures for different crops.

    After spending 30-45minutes exploring, we drive 15minutes to Maras, where we will explore and learn about the ancient salt mines.

    Here, we explore the area for about 30 – 45minutes before making our way back to the van to transport us to Ollantaytambo, the Inca Citadel

    At the Inca Citadel, we learn about the Inca building techniques and methods of transporting massive rocks that weighed tons.

    Once we finish the tour of the citadel, we break for a late lunch before boarding the train that will take you to Aguas Calientes and finally your hotel.

    Day 2 Cusco/Sunrise over Machu Picchu/Cusco

    Early wake-up call at 4:30 am to ready and grab breakfast by 5 am.

    After a quick meal, we make our way to the bus line to wait for our turn up to Machu Picchu.

    20min after we board we arrive at the entrance of One of the Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu where we begin our 2hr private guided tour for sunrise.

    The moment we’ve all been waiting for! After the tour, you will have time to explore.

    We make a bus line near the entrance gate to make our way back to Aguas Calientes.

    Our guide will be at Gringo Bills hotel to transfer you to the train station for you to board the afternoon train.

    After a 1hr and 45-minute train ride along the beautiful and impressive roaring Urubamba river and dense amazon jungle, we arrive in Ollantaytambo.

    At which point, your transfer will be waiting for you to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.

    Day 3 Humantay Lake Trek

    At 4:30 am your VSA mountain guide and our driver will pick up you from your hotel. The first stop of the day will be at Mollepata to have breakfast to fuel up on energy. After a light breakfast, we’ll continue our drive up to Soraypampa at 3920m.a.s.l.

    Here you will have the opportunity to get to know the Sky Camp which is located in front of the majestic snowy Salkantay and Humantay.

    After a brief rest, we will prepare ourselves to start the trek upwards until we reach the highest point of the trail, on our way crossing wonderful landscapes surrounded by a complex of mountains. You will surely be impressed with the panoramic view of seeing the turquoise lake at 4200 masl. 13779 (ft) close to an astounding glacier. Get ready to take tons of photos!

    After we enjoy photos and possible glacial dip, we will return to where our personnel will be waiting for us with lunch.

    Our transport will be waiting for us to return to Cusco by 5 pm approximately

    Day 4 Cusco/Rainbow Mountain/Cusco

    Route to Rainbow Mountain! Your VSA mountain guide will pick you up at your hotel between the hours of 2:15 am and 2:30 am, for a 3 hour trip via private van to the start of the trail. Upon arriving, you will be served a local Peruvian breakfast prepared by our local chef to get your energy up for our day ahead!

    Our day will consist of a 2.5-hour hike and is a distance of 6 kilometers (3.7 miles). roughout your journey you will pass through a vibrant green valley with the snow-capped peak of Ausangate towering in the distance. You will see hundreds of roaming alpaca, and have the chance to truly see how Quechua people live.

    As you get closer to the Rainbow Mountain you will begin to see the first signs of the colored minerals that formed the painted hills. Your guide will explain what makes up the existence of the Rainbow Mountain and how it was formed, and finally, with one last push, you will hike up to a vantage point that gives you a 360-degree view of the beautiful landscape that makes up the sacred land.

    We will have snacks on top and take a relaxing break to soak up the vistas, where you can enjoy the beauty that surrounds you. At this time you can also enjoy some coca tea that the locals prepare for visitors.

    After about an hour you will embark on your hike back to the trailhead (1.5 hours), where you will have a gourmet lunch prepared by our chef in a traditional mud-house and depart back to Cusco.
