ITINERARY SALAR DE UYUNI 2 DAY

Salar de Uyuni

Departure Location: Uyuni

Duration: 10:30am – 7pm

Distance: 290km/ 180miles (roundtrip)

Elevation: 3.600m (11,800 ) – 5320m (17,450 )

Difficulty: Easy Medium

Route to Salt Flats! We start the day picking you up at the bus station (6a.m. for breakfast), at the airport (9:30 a.m.) or at your hotel between 10:00 a.m. and 10: 15 a.m., on our way to our office and make all the travel records.

 

 

Our day will consist of an expedition in 4WD for the most important nearby attractions of Uyuni. We will start visiting the Uyuni Train Cemetery, an amazing place that narrates in each wagon the history of the mining era of South America. After a time to take pictures we will move to the community of Colchani, a desolate place ideal to buy souvenirs first quality made by salt, we can also observe the manual manufacture of salt products. Our next stop will be the eyes and salt crystals where we will observe the formation of the Salar de Uyuni. At mid-day we will visit the statue of the Dakar. Lunch will be in a ex salt hotel-museum called Playa Blanca where we will enjoy a variety of traditional food or similar. we will enjoy the sunset. Arriving in Coqueza. (Dinner included)

Tunupa Volcano

We start the day with a local breakfast, we prepare to visit the mummies of Coqueza. In excellent condition these mummies are of unknown origin and are enigma throughout the region! (If you are in search of adventure, you have an alternative to visit the viewpoints of the Rainbow Tunupa Volcano, a 3-hour walk round trip). We enjoyed a last lunch buffet. At 3:30 pm we will visit the most famous island of the Salar de Uyuni called ‘Isla Incahuasi’, an island formed entirely by prehistoric sea corals, wonderfully creating a microsystem that hold amazing giant cacti that can measure up to 12 meters! finishing our expedition on the island and enjoying its 360º panoramic view. Ending the day around 18:30hrs in Uyuni.
