On every of those trips there were problems. But not on the VSA-Tours. We got picked up exaclty at the agreed time. The trip included a good breakfast and a excellent lunch at both days. The best about VSA is the time of arrival. We got picked up quite early so we could be the first at the mountaintops. It was perfect to explore the landscape and enjoy this unique view. At both days we saw dozens of people climbing up to the tops where we´ve alredy been. They couldnt enjoy it as much as we did.Noé was a great gudie ! We were lucky because we´ve been the only guests that booked the trips on these days so we had our private guide. He knew a lot about the history, the environment and the country so it was very intresting to talk to him. Also he was really taking care of our needs. He arranged us horses to ride to the top, because the hike was quite demanding for us.We really had the two best days of our whole trip. Thanks VSA and thanks Noé !!! You´re a great guide !!! Great Experience Wed booked the Tres Rainbows Day Tour with Jacob, and... read more could not have asked for a better tour guide! We loved talking to him about everything Cusco and Peru, and loved getting information about the different minerals which creates the beautiful scenery, and also the surrounding mountain ranges. Afterwards we pulled over and had a great lunch picnic style! We really enjoyed this trek as we were told that the popular Rainbow Mountain is pretty difficult. We were able to see everything that you get to see on the popular one, but it was much less crowded and pretty simple.Sophia was great to work with on the administrative side of things, and was on top of everything with suggestions on what to do. At the end, we were the only people in the tour, so i an say it was private :) Yes, you have to wake up really early, but it worth - we really arrived to the summit first and it’s an absolutely different experience! Both the guide and the driver were nice, food was very good (and I’m really picky in this) - they even give you plenty of snacks and blankets - in case it’s very windy on the summit. We took the new road, and the trekking was ~1,5 hours and mostly flat! Highly recommend - yes, it’s more expensive than usual crowded group tours, but it worth every dollar we paid. The only thing I would recommend is to fix the payment on the website - there was a bit of confusion in the morning regarding where we go - classic or tres rainbows. But the guide solved it quickly. 3-Day Rainbow Mountain Trek We spent 10 days throughout Peru (Cusco, Pisac, Lima), but... read more nothing compares to the 3 1/2 days we spent with Visit South America. We were short on time, so decided to cram the 4-day trek within 3 days, and the VSA crew did an amazing job making this possible. VSA's level of communication throughout the 5 months leading up to the trip was outstanding (they were great at adjusting to our non-stop changing plans). At first, we we're worried about the price ($550 each person), because we knew there were cheaper local options available. However, after only the first day, we knew we picked the right company and already felt we got our money's worth. Most notably, our Guide Noah was the best. Our trip was particularly tougher than the others offered, but Noah knew exactly how to push us, how to deal with any altitude problems that arose, and knew the vast landscape and shortcuts better than anyone I could have imagined. As far as the actual trek itself, it was something words can't describe. We decided to the do the Rainbow Mountain trek after seeing the hundreds of pictures throughout social media, but not even pictures can do this trip justice. Every hour, every peak, and every day, were completely different. For example, at one moment your surrounded by vast greenlands, and then the next, you're surrounded by Ausangate glacier and its surrounding lakes. Fast forward a day, and you'll find yourself in a Mars-like valley full of multi-colored sand. Yes it was tough, but every single part of it was worth it.We then went on to Lima for the food and the city life, but nothing compares to week spent with Noah, the cook, the porter, and the services this company offered. They provided multiple options based on price range and what I was looking to do. I loved the 4 day option for the Cordillera Huayhuash since I didn’t have time to do the entire thing. Our guide was excellent as well as the local guide. We honestly ate better in that tent than I do normally. I’m looking to do more South America travel and will absolutely be booking with VSA! My only piece of advice is make sure to give yourself time in Huaraz to acclimate before going on a hike. I made the mistake of booking one an hour after my bus arrived and I got altitude sickness. However, I was fine for the Huayhuash two days later! More read less

Great Tour of the Sacred Valley My friend and I went on the Sacred Valley tour... read more with Noah and Hugo. The team truly went above and beyond in everything. Noah was super knowledgable about every place we visited. He also was very nice about having to take breaks when the altitude got the best of me. Picked my own spots of interest from the unique collections on their instagram, and Sofia helped make it happen by planning the itinerary for us. Everywhere we arrived, there was at least one guide waiting for us, picking us up and showing us the best of that place. It was like having very good local friends who are super nice and knowledgeable, willing to go beyond their job, taking their time to make sure we had a good time. Really appreciated Jeff, Sergio, Noah, Indira of VSA and all guides from other coordinated tours that we took during the trip. Especially Hilton, although we didnt get a chance to meet him, he was there for us almost everyday, answering our questions and making sure we are safe and enjoying our trip. Thumbs up for VSA, if only they operate everywhere in the world, I would book all my trips with them. read less

Once we got to Peru all our guides: Efrain, Javier and Noah were amazing!!! They were super helpful answering questions and helping us get the most out of our trip. The whole thing was awesome. Made our trip so enjoyable and stress free.We had most things planned out before the trip. We basically got to design our own itinerary but Hilton had so many great tips and was so helpful. The tour guides/drivers were so friendly and knowledgeable. Peru's culture and history is fascinating and I think we would have missed out on a lot if we hadn't been able to spend time with them.Even when we were in Peru Hilton was available whenever we had questions so we always felt supported. Andre made comments to me indicating that it was all attitude which felt incredibly condescending and offensive. I was not offered a horse or medical attention even as I was vomitting and falling along the way. Andre's recommendation was that I continue with the trek, knowing that the second day would be the most challenging. At this point I was severely dehydrated and altitude sickness kicked in. Finally, that evening Andre mentioned the option to see a doctor but was not enthusiastic about this option. I ultimately decided to return back to Cusco the next day and saw a doctor who had been at the camp the whole time in the morning who basically said I was so dehydrated and my oxygen levels were so low that I should go straight to a clinic. No doubt this trek is challenging, but I feel that the guides were nothing short of negligent. Visit South America helped us as much as they could and offered transportation back but we did have to pay for our own train ride to Machu Picchu which thankfully I was better for and was able to see. Again this review is mostly for Andre from Salkanty Trekking Company. I'm all into spirituality and mental strength but there comes a time when you need medical attention and that is where they failed. More read less
