    Itinerary

    Day 1 La Paz/Dead Road/San Juan Waterfalls/ La Paz

Meeting point in ‘Little Italy’ restaurant at 7:30. After meeting your guide and everyone on your trip (7ppl per group). We drive up to the Summit. There we give you all your great Gear, including your awesome bikes. After a detailed safety speech and riding coaching session from our highly trained English speaking guides. We Start our descent!

Our first 20KM are on a paved tarmac road. This gives you the opportunity to practice all the riding techniques that our guides will teach you, well as getting a feel for your bike and their super strong Hayes Hydraulic Disc Brakes, and silky smooth suspension.

After a few stops to take in the stunning valley views, the super fast tarmac leads us to Unduavi where everyone has to pay a 25Bs. Entrance fee, to enter the National Park, (This money goes to the upkeep of the road and towards safety improvements, as well as to help some of the local communities). Here we get in the bus for a short 10KM section that’s mostly uphill.

After a nice snack, we have another safety briefing before starting on the old road. No more tarmac, we are now on the Death Road! This narrow ledge of a road winds it’s a way through some of the most stunning scenery in the world. And though it’s dangerous, we give you all the instruction and equipment you need to make it down safely and comfortably.

After several stops with breathtaking views and great photo opportunities, we reach the San Juan Waterfalls. Here we’ll have another snack. This stunning viewpoint not only offers a great spot for some photos of these spectacular waterfalls, but we also get the chance to ride through them! From here the sections of the ride get longer and there are parts where we can ride a bit faster if you want to. If not, there’s no rush, you go as fast as you feel comfortable going.

14:30 After the last few sections, with include awesome river crossings, we reach the end of this remarkable ride! Look around, you are in the deep jungle and it’s hard to imagine that just earlier in the morning we were high up in the mountains.

We pedal over to our lunch spot, with is the residence of a local sculptor, whose house seems to be his grand masterpiece. His family serves us a delicious meal of home-made pasta and fresh salad (We can take a hot shower here). After lunch, you can head off to our natural pool in the river to take a dip, lounge around the jungle house and play some pool or for an additional cost can choose to visit the beautiful Jungle Animal Refuge ‘Senda Verde’ where you’ll get a tour of their facilities and a chance to play with monkeys and other wild animals.

18:20 We drive back up the road, where you get to see all the scenarios you may have missed while riding and our guides get to tell you all the scary stories you didn’t want to hear on the way down. Arriving to La Paz (21:00), we drop you off near your hotel.

Congrats! You are now a The World’s most dangerous road survivor! Part of this VSA Family #VisitSouthAmerica
