    Day 1 Cusco/ Piskacucho/Km 82/ Wayllabamba

    Start your journey at 6 am by leaving Cusco for Ollantaytambo village. Make a quick stop for any last-minute gear, personal necessities and stuff for trekking the Inca trail. Enjoy your breakfast and continue driving to Piskacuchu (Km 82), the official starting point of the Inca Trail. Then, start your easy stroll along the 4 day trek to Machu Picchu where you will pass through Quechua Hamlets and local people. Stop at Miskay for lunch and a siesta before heading straight to Patallacta or Llactapata, the biggest archaeological site. Finally, finish up with a two-hour walk to Wayllabamba, the first camping spot at 2 900m / 9 5144 feet.

    Day 2 Wayllabamba/ Warmiwañusca/ Pacaymayo

    Begin your journey early in the morning to take advantage of the fresh air and shade of the mountains. Climb up to Warmihuañusca (Dead Woman’s Pass 4200 m.a.s.l.), the highest point of the Inca Trail hike to Machu Picchu, taking in all kinds of beautiful scenery along the way, such as snow-capped mountains, Andean Alpines, and jagged darkened lofty mountains. After resting and taking some photos, you will march downhill to Pacaymayo Campground at 3600 m / 11 800 ft for lunch followed by a free afternoon for rest.

    Day 3 Pacaymayo/ Chaquicocha/ Wiñaywayna

    Start off your day with a nutritious breakfast to fuel up for the adventure. Begin the challenge from Pacaymayo campground through Runcuracay archaeological site, then onto El Paso (Pass) Runcuracay at 3,850 m (second highest of Inca trail passes). Follow the stepped stone ancient Inca path, passing Sayacmarca Inca site for a little rest and visit. On your way to lunch spot at Phuyupatamarca, you will pass through a tunnel and see foundations of the path placed ten meters down on a mountainside. After lunch, ascend a zigzagging path to Wiñaywayna camp (2 560 m / 8 700 ft ) for your last overnight stay. To end off this remarkable experience, there will be a traditional farewell ceremony thanking all team crew who worked on this 4-day hike.

    Day 4 Wiñaywayna/ Machupicchu /Cusco

    Start with an early breakfast and begin the final leg of your journey to Machu Picchu. Check in at the control stall and hike to Inti Punku (Sun Gate), The Gate of the Inca Trail, where you can overlook the marvelous citadel. Hike west down to Machu Picchu park to register and enjoy a two-hour guided tour of this sacred city followed by some free time to explore less-frequented sections. After that, take the bus or walk part of the Short Inca Trail down to Aguas Calientes for lunch. Enjoy some rest exploring before returning to Ollantaytambo by train, then back to Cusco by bus as agreed in your booking.

    Is it possible to keep my luggage at your office?

    Drop off your luggage at our office and make your journey lighter! We’ll store your belongings safely until you come back from the four day trek to Machu Picchu.

    Is it possible to modify the departure date after obtaining Inca Trail 4 Days permits?

    Unfortunately, the Inca Trail permits are not transferable or refundable but it is possible - you’ll have to buy a new permit for the new departure date. The only information that can be modified is passport numbers.

    Is it necessary to bring the original passport when taking part in the Inca Trail five days to Machu Picchu?

    It is absolutely essential to carry your original passport with you on the five day Inca Trail hike to Machu Picchu. The same passport which you used to request your permit must be presented at three Inca trail checkpoints, Machu Picchu, and when boarding the train.

    How can I update the passport numbers associated with my trip to Machu Picchu?

    If you are renewing your passport, we kindly ask that you send us a copy of your old passport to book any Inca Trail 5 Day permits. In the event that you no longer have your old passport, any official government-issued ID with the same name will be accepted. Once you receive your new passport, please email us a copy of this document as soon as possible in order to update the information on your permit.

    When is my train ticket scheduled to depart?

    We typically book return train tickets for 02:55 pm on the fourth day, so you will arrive in Cusco at 06:30 pm. This will give you plenty of time to rest and take in any tours for the following day, such as Rainbow Mountain.

    Is it possible to stay in the Sacred Valley for my Inca Trail 4 Days experience?

    Yes, it is possible to stay in either Urubamba or Ollantaytambo. By choosing the Sacred Valley for your accommodation, you will experience an extra hour of sleep before being picked up, compared to a pickup from Cusco.

    Will I receive a refund if I cancel my 4 day inca trail hike?

    In case of border closure, you will be refunded the full deposit. All other cancellations require a fee of $150, and all Inca Trail permits and train tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable per the Ministry of Culture of Peru and Peru Rail. We understand that changes can happen quickly, and will do our best to be fair while still charging for services already rendered.
