We begin the tour at 6:30 am by picking you up at your hotel in Ayacucho city. If access is not possible to your hotel, we will meet at the Plaza de Armas Ayacucho. We begin our 4hr drive to Huacaraylla. Along the way, we stop at a small town for snacks and optional breakfas

We arrive at the parking space in Pataqocha.

After taking in the beautiful scenery of the area, we begin our 30-45min hike towards the magical turquoise Millpu lagoons.
About 10mins further we reach the summit where we can observe waterfalls and impressive rock formations that make the canyon. As well as the turquoise lagoons as far as the eye can see!
After about 30-45 minutes of exploring the summit, we make our way towards the start of the trail close to natural pools.

We make our way towards the van so that we can enjoy our box lunch outdoors with a beautiful view.

After lunch, we begin our 3hr return back to Ayacucho.

Millpu is a small town located in the Ayacucho region of Peru, approximately 25 kilometers from the city of Huamanga.
The best time to visit the turquoise Millpu Lagoons is between April to November is the dry season in the Andes.
It´s really cloudy, not good access, not recommended. The rainy season is from December to March. Due to the rains, it's not possible to see the natural pool's color 'turquoise'.
Visitors to this area have the opportunity to explore Incan ruins such as Sacsahimán and Ollantaytambo as well as visit local markets and observe traditional weaving techniques used by locals here.
No particular health risks have been reported when visiting this region; however, visitors may experience altitude sickness if they ascend too quickly without proper acclimatization before hand so be sure to plan ahead for adequate rest stops during your journey.
It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing suitable for varying weather conditions such as light layers for warmth during cold mornings/evenings, sun protection (hats etc) during hot afternoons, and sturdy shoes for exploring archaeological sites or walking through rural villages around this area.
