    Day 1 Cusco/Chinchero/ Moray/Maras/Ollantaytambo/ Machu Picchu

    At 7:30 am your  VSA tour guide and driver will pick up you from your hotel. We drive 45 minutes and our first stop is a  the small town called Chinchero, in this small city we will learn about the ancient techniques of arts and textiles by the local people of the area. A one of a kind experience!

    We continued our journey, exploring the agricultural testing site of the Incas – Moray. As we passed through beautiful, lush valleys and caught glimpses of snow-capped peaks from afar, the awe-inspiring sight only grew stronger. The Incas crafted the dome-like shape into the ground to experiment with optimal growing temperatures for various crops, making it a truly unique experience.

    After spending 30-45minutes exploring the mysterious agricultural testing site of Moray, we drove 15minutes to Maras, where we explored the area and learned about its ancient salt mines.

    This unique experience was only heightened as we made our way back to the van and set off for Ollantaytambo, the Inca Citadel.

    At the Inca Citadel, we were stunned by their amazing building techniques and intricate methods of transporting gigantic rocks weighing tons. We couldn’t help but marvel at the skill and resourcefulness of the ancient Incas.

    Once we finished our tour of the Inca Citadel, we enjoyed a late lunch before boarding the train that would take us to Aguas Calientes, and eventually to the hotel.

    Day 2 Cusco/Machu Picchu/Cusco

    It’s time for an early wake-up call at 4:30 am! so we can be ready to grab breakfast by 5 am.

    After a quick meal, we make our way to the bus line, eager for our journey up to Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World!  After a 20min ride, we’re at the entrance where we’ll start our private, 2hr guided tour around sunrise.

    The moment we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived! After the tour, there’s plenty of time to explore over the sunrise!

    We make our way to the bus line near the entrance gate, eager for our journey back to Aguas Calientes.

    Our guide will be waiting for us at Gringo Bills hotel, ready to transfer us to the train station, so we can board the afternoon train.

    After a 1hr and 45-minute train ride, with the majestic Urubamba river and dense Amazon jungle as our backdrop, we arrive in Ollantaytambo.

    Our transfer is ready there to take us back to our hotel in Cusco.

    Your transfer will be waiting for you to take you back to your hotel in Cusco. Arriving by 6pm.

    Day 3 Humantay Lake Trek (Option 1)

    At 4:30am, your VSA mountain guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel. Our first stop of the day will be Mollepata, where we’ll have a light breakfast to fuel up on energy. After that, we’ll continue our drive up to Soraypampa at 3920m above sea level.

    Here, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know the Sky Camp, nestled in front of the majestic snowy Salkantay and Humantay.

    After a brief rest, we’ll continue our trek upwards, crossing wonderful landscapes surrounded by a complex of mountains. The highlight of the journey will be seeing the turquoise lake at 4200 masl (13779 ft), close to an astounding glacier.

    Get your cameras ready, you will take beautiful photos!

    After taking in the views and perhaps taking a glacial dip, we’ll return to where our staff will be waiting for us with lunch. Enjoy the delicious food while admiring the wonderful views of Salkantay and Humantay.

    Our transport will be ready to take us back to Cusco at around 5 pm. Enjoy one last look at the views before heading back home!

    Day 4Cusco/Rainbow Mountain/Cusco (Option 2)

    Get ready for an adventure! Your VSA mountain guide will be picking you up at your hotel between the hours of 2:15 am/2:30 am.

    Enjoy a 3-hour trip via private van to the start of the Rainbow Mountain trail. Once you reach your destination, you will be served a delicious breakfast prepared by our local chef to give you all the energy you need for your journey ahead!

    Embark on an epic journey of exploration! Our 2.5-hour hike will take us through a majestic green valley, with the snow-capped peak of Ausangate towering in the background. We’ll traverse a total distance of 6 kilometers (3.7 miles), meeting hundreds of roaming alpacas along the way and getting the chance to experience traditional Quechua life firsthand.

    Get ready to explore! As you get closer to the Rainbow Mountain, you’ll be able to see the first signs of the colorful minerals that formed the painted hills.

    Your guide will explain what makes up the existence of this remarkable feature and how it was formed. With just one last push, you’ll summit a vantage point that offers an unforgettable 360-degree view of the sacred landscape below.

    Take a break and take in the breathtaking views! We’ll have snacks and enjoy some coca tea whilst soaking up all the majestic beauty around us. It’s sure to be an experience that won’t be forgotten.

    After an hour of exploring, you’ll begin your hike back to the trailhead. Approximadly a 1.5 hour trek. Upon your return, enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by our chef and then make your way back to Cusco to complete your journey!
